Ward awarded the prizes in Eurogran UK golf day   07/06/2008

After last years carefully planned weather, the rain “spotted” few times at the very successful Eurogran UK Golf Day, held again on the Forest of Arden’s Championship Course on the 17th July. Considering how the weather was performing on the opening day at Royal Birkdale in the “Open”, Fekade Zewde, Managing Director of Eurogran UK, was pleased that the Golf Day was the best he could have wished for.United Kingdom.

After walking away with the proverbial trophy cabinet last year, John Ferguson from Bettavend could only muster the Longest Drive on the 12th, while Julian Ward from Golden Valley picked up the Nearest the Pin on the tricky 8th over the pond, and it was noted that there were not many names on the sheet, but that the pond looked rather full!

The day’s main prize winners were, Julian Ward from Golden Valley, with an excellent score of 36 points in First place, Roger Rawlinson of Double “R” Catering in second place with 34 points, and third was Peter Brooks from Office Water Coolers with 33 points.

The team prize went to Roger Rawlinson, Brian Broome, David Boulle and Alan Wynn with a combined total of 93 points on their averaged cards.

The prizes were presented by Fekade Zewde and Kevin Burns.

Thanks must again go to Nestle Professional for their sponsorship of the day, and to all 26, players who took part and made for such a great day.

Next year’s event has already been booked for the same venue and details of dates and time will be circulated much nearer the time.
